October Family Newsletter

Dear family,

I can’t believe that we are fully engrossed in yet another school year! Where does the time go?

We are all doing well. Kate and Hanah are playing soccer so we spend a lot of time being soccer parents. It is the first season for Hanah and she seems to love it. It’s funny to watch the kindergartners play as they pretty much run after the ball in a huge group!

Kate is doing great. She plays goalie full time for her team and is quite good. They have only lost one game thus far so that is always exciting. Bekah and Scott are both in band this year. For Bekah it’s her 3rd year playing the sax. Scott is just beginning to learn the clarinet. I must admit that I am a bit sad by his choice of instrument as I was hoping to have a drummer. I hope that next year he will decide to take choir as he has a very nice voice.

We had a pretty mellow summer. I was asked to attend girls camp in August and had a wonderful time! I love being with the young women. It was extra special as Rebekah was there as well. I was advisor to the 7th year campers and the girls decided that I was really one of them as mentally we are about the same age. I wasn’t sure if that was a complement but decided to take it as one!

I was called into the YW presidency in late April and then about 2 months later, the YW pres. was released and called to a stake position so as you know we all were released. I was so sad cuz I didn’t feel like I had been there long enough. I am happy to report that the new YW pres. asked for me to be her 1st counselor. I love working with the girls it’s so rewarding. I am always amazed at how strong the youth have to be these days. They are faced with so many evils that we didn’t face. Things that were rare occurrences when in I was a kid are now the norm and it seems to me that the Lord truly saved some of His strongest spirit children for this generation!

Kevin is still the ex. Secretary in the ward and really is happy there. He has had some exciting work happenings lately so he is really happy there. They appointed a new CEO. This guy is great. Kevin has enjoyed working with him. He promoted Kevin to Director of People and Training. HR is still his main focus but with some additional responsibilities and more money.

All and all we are doing great here. We do wish we could visit with you all a lot more often. I hate being so far away from you all. You are always in our thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Kevin, Trina and kids

New Hamlet Hair!

Rebekah decided to try some short hair for the first time ever! we love how cute it is!
Kate was the first to go short today. She decided she wanted to look like her 2nd grade teacher.
Hanah always looks cute with short hair. It really fits her personality!
Emma wanted her hair cut but no way were we going to cut those curls so we just pretended!

pictures of the dogs...for Jenice!

Here we have Lula and Polly taking a photo break. They are a lot of fun for our family and we love being the parents of a midgit dog and foster parents to a beauty.

Here are my girls. Lula and Polly are playing and it is so funny to watch because, as you can see, Polly is so much bigger but she always lets Lula win. Such a good dog.

July 4th celebrations

Emma really enjoys having her watermelon. she was trying to get me to throw this away for her but I told her to go find Kira! Why would I want to get sticky when I can pawn it off on a friend?

Here is Hanah really enjoying her 2 sparklers!Every year we go to the Mukelshoot Indian reservation with the Bradshaw family and purchase our fireworks early in the day. Then, in the evening, we all go to their house and light them all off. Here's Kate with her sparkler. She is running down the sidewalk hoping to catch hershelf on fire! She had a great time with all her sparklers. She wanted to light the bottle rockets like the bigger kids but the rule is she has to be 11.
This is Scotts first year beign able to use a "punk" and he was allowed to light bottle rockets, roman candles and a few other small explosives. Big fun for him.
This is Bekah and Gregg doing some roman candle battles with a lovely fountain going behind them. We love doing teh fireworks in the Bradshaws neighborhood becasue so many of their neighbors also light them off and it really gets pretty.

Soccer days

Kate really enjoyed playing the goal keeper this season. Here she is getting ready to put the ball back into play after saving a goal. She really does a great job as goalie she has no fear and jumps right into the mix.
Here she is trying to shut them down. She didn't get a lot of help from her teammates as they were mostly first timers, but they had lots for fun.
She got lucky on this one as the ball came on this side of the goal and didn't go in! Kate only allowed 3 goals all season.

doing some summer jumping

I love this picture fo Emma! looks like she is riding a horse except that there is nothing under her!
Emma likes to run on the trampoline and it just kills me cuz her legs look so funny. She is so cute! this is my favorite age because they are still babies but they are little people too.
Hanah is learning to do forward flips. Grandpa can't watch because it gives him the "willies". She's getting pretty good at them.

fun in the sun! finally!!

Well, it finally got sunny and warm so we decided we better get the pool up before our luck changed and it got cold again! Scott likes to swim in his underwear so that is always a treat! Hanah and Kate were also excited to play in the freezing water as we were filling it up.

Lula loves to play outside when the kids are out there with her! She is too short to jump from the deck to the trampoline tho!

Hanah and Emma are jumping on the trampoline. We have to get outside when we can since spring has been so crummy! 5-08

Trina's first entry...lets see how it goes!

These are our little babies...they are not twins as you may be able to see! the big one is Polly and the little one is Lula. We really love having these girls around they are funny!

This is Kate at her first soccer game of the spring season! She really loves to play all the positions but goal keeper is her favorite!

While Hanah, Emma and I were in Utah for my gramma's 90th birthday party Kevin took Bekah, Scott, Kate and our nephew Nolan to play paint ball! They had a great time!
